Individual Therapy

What is Therapy?

Individual counseling (sometimes called psychotherapy, talk therapy, or treatment) is a process through which a person will work one-on-one with a trained mental health clinician in a safe, caring, and confidential environment. Counseling allows individuals to explore feelings, beliefs, and behaviors while working through challenges. Therapy can help identify aspects of one’s life that they would like to change, help to better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired goals.

Topics addressed in individual therapy can include PTSD, anger, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, relationship challenges, parenting problems, school difficulties, career changes, life events, family dysfunction, and anything else one would like to address. Treatment is individualized for each person.

Why therapy?

Therapy provides a person with the support and tools to process, experience, and cope with challenges or trauma. New Day provides a safe space to speak with a licensed therapist about the issues and challenges important to the individual with a strong focus on CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy).
